Heating for Large Shops & Commercial Buildings
The Rex Nordic AH-810i delivers 75,000 BTU/h of infrared heat for large metal workshops, agricultural buildings, warehouses, and commercial spaces. With heating coverage rated up to 70,600 cubic feet, quiet operation, and automatic temperature controls, it offers a portable heating solution for larger work environments.
How Infrared Heating Works
Unlike traditional forced-air heaters that primarily warm and circulate air, the Rex Nordic AH-810i uses infrared technology to warm people, floors, equipment, and surrounding surfaces.
This makes infrared heating particularly useful in large steel workshops, agricultural buildings, and warehouses where overhead doors may be opened frequently. While heated air can escape quickly, surfaces that have absorbed infrared warmth can retain heat longer.
The AH-810i operates on #2 diesel or renewable diesel (HVO/R99) and uses a standard 120-volt electrical connection. Its 18.5-gallon fuel tank provides approximately 32–37 hours of continuous operation under the manufacturer's stated conditions.
An automatic thermostat, remote control, timers, and Wi-Fi connectivity through the Rex Nordic app allow convenient temperature management. At approximately 48 decibels, the heater operates quietly for its size.
Actual heating performance depends on insulation, ceiling height, outdoor temperatures, and building conditions. Proper ventilation, safe clearances, and carbon monoxide detection are essential. Always follow the manufacturer's safety and operating instructions.

The AH-810i is worth considering for large steel workshops, warehouses, agricultural buildings, equipment storage facilities, and commercial spaces where portable heating is preferred over a permanently installed system.
Building size, ceiling height, insulation, and how frequently overhead doors are opened all influence heating requirements. The manufacturer's coverage rating is a useful starting point, but actual performance will vary.
